Title: Whatever It Takes – It Takes $250 million USD

Victor Wembanyama Inks his New Contract – In Paris France.

Yes, you read that correctly, that’s 250 million United States dollars, for 5 years of service  – not sure why that comes out to in French Francs … … … .

Victor Wembanyama signed a five year extension NBA player’s contract with the NBA San Antonio Spurs on July 9, 2026.

That’s about 50 million dollars to play approx. (82+10) 92 basketball games every year of the contract.  That’s one million dollars, approximately, to play basketball every week of the year – for five years.

The contract does not go into effect until after the 2027 NBA season.  The details remain unknown to this author at this time, and considering the staggering base contract amount, really, who cares about the details, except the bankers and lawyers – that’s their job.  The   young man, Victor Wembanyama,  is now the wealthiest 22 year old professional basketball player to have ever walked on earth.

Bissmaallah Victor!

THAT’S A LOT OF BREAD $$$$ TO PLAY BASKETBALL GAMES.

Great, congratulations Victor Wembanyama.  You have reached a milestone in your career.  You are a worthy recipient of the monetary gains now contracted and scheduled to be paid to you in the next five years.  May you be blessed.

Apparently the entire San Antonio Spurs organization has discovered that Paris, France is a very beautiful place and ‘cool’ to be visiting during the month of July.   It’s even better in October, sometimes.

Considering the comparison to the sweltering heat of San Antonio, Texas in the same month of July this year, it’s an easy assumption that made excellent travel plans.  Further, in a beautiful living room in a house somewhere close to Cheasney, France, the Spurs organization just signed the ‘biggest fish’ ever to the largest contract agreed upon with a team and a 22 year old NBA basketball player.  Confirmation after three years of playing in the NBA, that Victor Wembanyama was an excellent number 1 selection in the  2022 NBA draft. .

Every location has it’s advantages.  France is a special place in July.  It’s not like the U.S.of A. ,  it’s more like the USA during the 4th of July, but it lasts an entire 6 weeks in France.  Not only is the weather pleasant but the people take on a mode of relaxation.  They take time from work to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.   (You can afford to take such time away from work when the United States tax payer has been funding your military for decades.  Anyway, enough of the politics for now … … … . ) France is a beautiful place to sign a beautiful contract.

The San Antonio Spurs representatives present with Vitcor Wembanyama  are:

Spurs Head Basketball Coach: Mitchell C. Johnson,

Spurs Executive:  R.C. Buford

Spurs General Manager: Brian Wright

Person:  Unknown

The guy With the Pin: Victor Wembanyama

Now that the Spurs crew has (have) blended into the relaxation atmosphere wearing their casual white summer-time shirts and executed the contract signing, it may be time for some cafe’ conversations and wine.  I recommend a Bordeaux, 1985, 86, 87, … … maybe even earlier, 83.  … any type of Bordeaux should do … … .  Toast to a job well done.  À ta santé!
